If you are driving from anywhere within Snowdonia National Park, head towards the A55 highway. Depending on your starting point, you may take the A5 or A487 to reach the A55. Once on the A55, follow signs for Colwyn Bay. Take exit 20 for the A547 towards Colwyn Bay/Old Colwyn. Continue on the A547 for about 2 miles. Look for signs directing you to Welsh Mountain Zoo as you approach Colwyn Bay. The zoo is located on Old Highway, approximately 1 mile from Colwyn Bay town center. There is parking available at the zoo, but do check if there are any parking fees associated.

From various locations in Snowdonia National Park, you can take a bus to Colwyn Bay. Services such as the X35 and 19 operate routes to Colwyn Bay. Once you arrive at Colwyn Bay's main bus station, you will need to transfer to the local bus service that goes to Welsh Mountain Zoo. The service that operates this route is the 19 or the 20 bus.
