Getting There

• Car

  To get to Tate Modern from Sutherland by car, start by heading south on A9 towards the M74. Merge onto M74 and follow the signs for M6 towards Carlisle. Continue on M6 and then take the M1 toward London. As you approach London, follow signs for the A201 towards Southwark. Once in the city, follow the signs to Bankside. Tate Modern is located at Bankside, London SE1 9TG. Be aware of potential congestion charges when entering central London, which can cost around £15 daily.

• Train

  From Sutherland, take a train to London Euston. You can catch a train from the local station that connects to the mainline services. Once you arrive at London Euston, take the Northern Line from Euston Station to London Bridge Station, then change to the Jubilee Line and get off at Southwark Station. From Southwark, it's about a 10-minute walk to Tate Modern. Follow the signs to Bankside.

• Bus

  If you're opting for buses, start by taking a local bus from Sutherland to the nearest major town with bus services to London. Look for connections to London Victoria Coach Station. From there, you can take the London Underground. Board the Victoria Line to Green Park, then switch to the Jubilee Line towards Stratford and get off at Southwark Station. Tate Modern is about a 10-minute walk from the station.

  For a more direct but expensive option, consider taking a taxi from Sutherland to Tate Modern. This can be more comfortable but will incur a higher cost. Ensure to agree on the fare beforehand or use a metered taxi. The estimated fare can vary significantly based on traffic but expect it to be in the range of £150-£200 for the journey.
