Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from York Minster, exit the Minster grounds and head south on Minster Yard. Continue straight until you reach Duncombe Place, then turn left. Walk down Duncombe Place until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with Museum Street. Cross the road and continue straight onto Museum Street. After a short walk, you will see the entrance to the Yorkshire Museum on your right, located within the Museum Gardens.

    From the York Railway Station, exit the station and head north on Station Road. At the first roundabout, take the second exit onto Leeman Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the river. You will see the Museum Gardens across the river. Cross the bridge and walk through the gardens. The Yorkshire Museum will be located towards the northern end of the gardens.

    From the city center, you can take the number 1 bus from the bus stop at Parliament Street. The bus runs frequently and will take you to the Museum stop. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the Museum Gardens, and you will find the Yorkshire Museum at the northern end of the gardens.
