Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards York city center. Use the A64 and follow signs for York. As you approach the city, take the A1036 (Foss Islands Road) which leads directly into the city center. Once you reach the city center, follow signs for York Minster. There is limited parking available around the Minster, so it's advisable to park in one of the nearby car parks such as the Castle Car Park or the NCP Car Park on Union Terrace. Please note that parking fees may apply, typically around £2-£3 per hour.

• Train

  If you are traveling by train, take a train to York Station. Major cities like Leeds, Manchester, and London have direct train services to York. Once you arrive at York Station, exit the station and walk towards the city center, which is approximately a 15-minute walk (about 0.7 miles). Follow signs for the Minster, and walk along Station Road, turning left onto Museum Street, which leads you directly to the Minster.

  For those using public transportation, local buses to York city center are available from various towns in Yorkshire. Look for services that stop at the York Station or directly in the city center.   If you are already in York, the Minster is easily accessible on foot. From the city center, simply walk towards Deangate, where the Minster is located. There are clear signs leading to the Minster from various parts of the city, and it's a short, pleasant walk.
