Car
If you're driving from Moab, take US-191 S, then merge onto I-70 W. After approximately 40 miles, take exit 149 for US-191 S toward Monticello. Continue on US-191 S until you reach the junction with UT-313. Follow UT-313 into Canyonlands National Park. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the Island in the Sky district. From the Grand View Point Overlook, continue driving along the park road until you reach the junction with the Elephant Hill Trailhead. Park your car in the designated parking area. Be aware that there may be an entrance fee for the national park, typically around $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass.

From the Elephant Hill Trailhead, begin your hike on the Elephant Hill Trail. The trail is moderately challenging and includes some rocky terrain and scrambles. Follow the trail markers as you navigate through the landscape. It is approximately a 1.5-mile hike to reach Elephant Arch, so be prepared for about 1-2 hours of hiking time depending on your pace. Ensure you have plenty of water, snacks, and a hat for sun protection.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly into Canyonlands National Park. However, you can take a bus or shuttle service from Moab to the park. Once you arrive, you might need to use a rideshare service or bicycle rentals within Moab to get to the Elephant Hill Trailhead. Be sure to check the schedule for any shuttle services as they may not run frequently. Additionally, you should plan for a return trip to Moab after your visit.
