Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within Dixie National Forest, exit the forest via Scenic Byway 12 (Utah State Route 12) heading towards Escalante. Continue on this scenic route for approximately 20 miles. Look for signs indicating Escalante, and take a right onto Reservoir Road (this should be just after entering Escalante). The park entrance is located at 710 Reservoir Rd, Escalante, UT 84726. The drive will take about 30-40 minutes depending on your starting point in the national forest.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, the nearest bus service is Greyhound, which operates routes through nearby towns. You can take a Greyhound bus to the town of Escalante. From there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to reach Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, as public transit does not cover this specific area. • Bicycle
