Getting There

• Hiking

  From the center of Escalante, head east on UT-12. Continue for about 4 miles until you reach the trailhead for the Escalante River Trail. The trailhead is well-marked and has a small parking area. Since you are walking, this is where your journey begins. Follow the trail that leads towards the Escalante River, which is approximately 1 mile from the trailhead. The path is well-trodden but can be rocky, so wear sturdy shoes. Once at the river, turn right and follow the riverbank upstream. You will pass through beautiful scenery and may encounter some small stream crossings. Continue walking for about 2 miles along the river until you reach the base of Serenity Natural Bridge. The bridge is a short climb from the riverbank, and you will see it rising majestically ahead of you.

• Guided Tour

  Consider joining a guided tour that starts in Escalante. Many local companies offer hiking tours to Serenity Natural Bridge. Check with local tourism offices or visitor centers for available options. These tours usually include knowledgeable guides who will provide transportation to the trailhead and lead you through the scenic routes to the bridge. This is a great choice if you prefer not to navigate the trail alone.

• Biking

  If you prefer biking, rent a mountain bike in Escalante and head east on UT-12. There is a bike lane along the road. Ride for about 4 miles until you reach the Escalante River Trailhead. Secure your bike at the trailhead and continue on foot along the Escalante River as described in the hiking guidance. This option allows you to cover some distance faster, but be prepared to walk the rest of the way to the bridge.
