If you're travelling by car from any point in the Great Salt Lake Desert, head towards Interstate 80 (I-80) and take the exit for I-15 South toward Salt Lake City. Continue on I-15 South for about 70 miles. Once you reach Salt Lake City, take exit 308B for 600 S. From there, turn right onto 600 South and continue straight until you reach Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street, and shortly thereafter, you will arrive at the Site of Completion of Overland Telegraph Line located at approximately 40.76755° N latitude and -111.8909206° W longitude, near the intersection of Main Street and 100 South.

For those using public transportation, begin your journey by taking a Greyhound bus or a local transit service to Salt Lake City. Once you arrive at the Salt Lake City Bus Terminal, walk to the TRAX light rail station located at 200 S Main St. Board the Red Line towards the University Medical Center. Disembark at the 900 S station. Walk north on Main Street until you reach the Site of Completion of Overland Telegraph Line at the intersection of Main Street and 100 South. Be sure to check the local transit schedules for any potential costs, which typically range from $2.50 to $5 for a one-way fare.
