Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the center of Vernal, specifically at the intersection of Main Street and 500 South. Head east on 500 South until you reach the intersection with 1000 East. Turn left onto 1000 East and continue walking until you reach 1500 South. At this point, you can either continue walking or consider taking a bike rental service if available, as the next stretch may be longer. Follow 1500 South until it becomes a dirt road that leads towards the Moonshine Arch area. The trailhead for Moonshine Arch is located at Unnamed Road, which you will spot as you approach the area. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes as the terrain can be rocky.

• Bicycling

  If you have access to a bicycle, begin your journey at the Vernal City Park. Head east on 500 South until you reach 1000 East. Turn left on 1000 East and ride down to 1500 South. At 1500 South, you will encounter a dirt path that leads toward the Moonshine Arch Trail. This path can be quite scenic, but be cautious as it can also be rugged and uneven. Follow the dirt road until you reach the trailhead on Unnamed Road.

• Public Transportation

  While there may not be direct public transportation to the Moonshine Arch Trail, you can take a local bus or shuttle to the nearest access point at the Vernal City Park. From there, follow the walking instructions starting from the park. You may need to check local schedules and routes, as they can change. Ensure to carry water and snacks as the trail can be lengthy.
