Getting There

    From Bukhara city center, head northwest on Avicenna Street (or Bukhara-Uzbekistan Road) towards the A-373 highway. Continue on A-373 for approximately 50 km. You will pass through small towns and desert landscapes. After about 50 km, look for signs indicating 'Peski Uch-Kum' and take the turnoff. The sand dunes are about 10 km off the main road. Follow the dirt road leading into the dunes. Be cautious as the road may be unpaved and rough in some areas.

    Take a shared taxi (marshrutka) from Bukhara to the town of Kagan, which is about 10 km from Bukhara. The ride costs around 5,000 UZS (Uzbek Som) and takes about 30 minutes. Once in Kagan, hire a local taxi to take you to Peski Uch-Kum. The taxi fare should be negotiated beforehand; expect to pay around 50,000 UZS for the trip, which is approximately a 30-minute ride through the desert landscape.
