Getting There

    If you are in the center of Khiva, head towards the main square, which is the Plaza of the Khans. From the square, walk east towards the Kalta Minor Minaret. Once you reach the minaret, continue walking straight along the main street, which will take you through the ancient streets of Khiva. Keep following the signs for Ichan Kala, and you will soon see the grand entrance gate, the Ata-Darvaza Gate, which marks the entrance to the Ichan Kala fortress.
