Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Registan Square area, start by heading east towards the main road, which is called 'Alisher Navoi Street'. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the 'Tashkent Road' (also known as 'Samarkand Bypass'). Turn left onto Tashkent Road and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass by various shops and cafes along the way. Continue walking until you see a sign for Sherdor Madrassah on your right. The entrance to Sherdor Madrassah is clearly marked and is located at MX3G+WFW, which should be easy to spot.

  • Public Transport

    From the Registan Square, you can take a local bus or marshrutka (minibus). Look for a bus stop near Registan where buses heading to the 'Shahrisabz' or 'Uchtepa' routes stop. Board the bus and pay the fare (which is usually around 1,000 UZS). Stay on the bus for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the stop closest to Sherdor Madrassah. Once you get off, walk about 200 meters east along Tashkent Road, and you will see the madrassah on your left. Make sure to ask the driver or locals if you are unsure of the stop.
