Getting There

    From the entrance of the Apostolic Palace, head south towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue straight on this road for about 600 meters until you reach the Tiber River. Once you reach the river, turn left and walk along the Lungotevere towards Castel Sant'Angelo. You will see the impressive structure rising above the river on your right. It’s approximately a 10-15 minute walk.

  • Public Transport

    From the Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 23 or 280 towards 'Piazza Cavour'. After a short ride of about 5 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza Cavour' stop. From there, walk across the bridge (Ponte Umberto I) and follow the road to your right along Lungotevere Castello. Castel Sant'Angelo will be straight ahead, just a few minutes' walk away.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer not to walk, you can easily find a taxi near the Apostolic Palace. Simply head towards Via della Conciliazione and look for a taxi stand. Inform the driver you want to go to Castel Sant'Angelo at Lungotevere Castello, 50. The ride should take around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
