Getting There

  • Walking

    From the entrance of the Vatican Necropolis, head east towards Via di Porta Angelica. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. Turn right onto Via della Conciliazione and walk straight for about 500 meters. As you approach the Tiber River, you will see the majestic Ponte Sant'Angelo (Bridge of Angels) ahead. Cross the bridge, and you will arrive at Piazza di Ponte S. Angelo, where you can enjoy the views of Castel Sant'Angelo.

    If you're closer to St. Peter's Basilica, exit the Basilica and walk towards the colonnade that surrounds the square. Exit through the right side and proceed to Via della Conciliazione. Walk straight along this road for about 800 meters until you reach the Tiber River. Once you get to the river, cross the Ponte Sant'Angelo and you'll find yourself at Piazza di Ponte S. Angelo.
