Exit the Sistine Chapel through the main entrance. Once outside, turn left and walk towards the Vatican Museums exit. Continue walking straight until you reach the large open area of the Vatican Museums. You should see the impressive dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the distance. Keep walking straight, passing the Vatican Museums entrance and heading towards the main pathway that leads to St. Peter's Square. Follow the path until you reach the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica, which is located at the far end of the square.
