Getting There

Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head towards the main exit gate. Once you exit the gardens, you will find yourself on Viale Vaticano. Turn right and walk straight for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. Continue straight until you see the large square of Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, you can either walk towards the Basilica di San Pietro or head towards the left side of the square where you will find the exit towards Via della Conciliazione.

Walking
Once you are at Via della Conciliazione, walk straight for approximately 600 meters. You will see the Castel Sant'Angelo on your right. Continue walking straight until you reach the bridge (Ponte Sant'Angelo) that will take you across the Tiber River. Cross the bridge and continue straight on Lungotevere Castello. After about 300 meters, turn left onto Via di San Gregorio and then take a right onto Via della Conciliazione again. Follow this route to reach Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme.

From the Vatican Gardens, exit and walk to the nearest bus stop at Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 81 towards 'Piazza Venezia.' Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop 'Piazza di S. Croce in Gerusalemme.' From here, you will find the Basilica just a short walk away. Follow the signs towards Piazza di S. Croce in Gerusalemme, and you will arrive at the Basilica.
