    From the entrance of the Vatican Gardens, head towards the main exit gate. Once you exit the gardens, you will find yourself on Viale Vaticano. Turn right and walk straight for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. Continue straight until you see the large square of Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, you can either walk towards the Basilica di San Pietro or head towards the left side of the square where you will find the exit towards Via della Conciliazione.

    Once you are at Via della Conciliazione, walk straight for approximately 600 meters. You will see the Castel Sant'Angelo on your right. Continue walking straight until you reach the bridge (Ponte Sant'Angelo) that will take you across the Tiber River. Cross the bridge and continue straight on Lungotevere Castello. After about 300 meters, turn left onto Via di San Gregorio and then take a right onto Via della Conciliazione again. Follow this route to reach Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme.
