Bus
If you are in the Old Quarter, head to the nearest bus stop on Hang Da Street. Take Bus No. 09 towards Yen Nghia. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes until you reach the Thang Long Bridge stop. From there, walk for about 10 minutes towards the west along Nguyen Van Huyen Street, then turn left onto Buoi Street. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you see Thu Le Zoo on your right.
Walking
If you are staying near Hoan Kiem Lake, it's approximately a 40-minute walk to Thu Le Zoo. Start at the lake, head northwest along Ly Thai To Street, and then take a left onto Trang Thi Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. Turn right onto Nguyen Thai Hoc and walk until you reach the Hoang Hoa Tham intersection. Turn left and continue straight; the zoo will be on your left after about 1 km.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more convenient option, you can use a taxi or a ride-hailing app like Grab. Simply enter 'Thu Le Zoo' or 'Đ. Bưởi, Thủ Lệ, Ba Đình, Hà Nội' as your destination. Most drivers will know the location. The ride from the Old Quarter typically takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Cyclo
Experience a traditional cyclo ride. You can find cyclos near popular tourist areas such as Hoan Kiem Lake. Negotiate the fare beforehand (typically around 100,000 to 150,000 VND). Ask the driver to take you to Thu Le Zoo, located at Đ. Bưởi, Thủ Lệ, Ba Đình. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the sights of Hanoi along the way.
