If you are driving, start from Hanoi. Take National Route 1A toward Ninh Binh. After approximately 90 km, you will reach Ninh Binh City. Continue to follow the signs for Gia Viễn District. Once in Gia Viễn, look for signs directing you to Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, which is located about 15 km from Ninh Binh City. The drive should take around 2 hours depending on traffic. There is parking available at the entrance of the reserve.

If traveling by bus, you can catch a bus from Giap Bat Bus Station in Hanoi to Ninh Binh. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 2-2.5 hours. Once you arrive at Ninh Binh, you can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service to Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, which is around 15 km away. Expect to pay about 150,000-200,000 VND for the taxi fare.

For those who are comfortable riding a motorbike, you can rent one in Hanoi and take the same route as driving. The ride takes you through beautiful countryside and allows for more flexibility. After reaching Ninh Binh, follow the signs to Gia Viễn and then to Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, which is about a 15 km ride from the city center.
