Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Chippokes State Park from the Chesapeake Bay Region, the most common route is to take US-13 South. Start by getting on US-13 S from your location in the Chesapeake Bay area. Continue on US-13 S for approximately 30 miles until you reach the town of Franklin. From Franklin, merge onto US-258 S (follow signs for Surry). Continue on US-258 S for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with State Route 10. Take a left onto State Route 10 and continue for about 5 miles until you reach Surry. In Surry, turn right onto Chippokes Park Rd. Follow this road for about 2 miles, and you will arrive at Chippokes State Park, located at 695 Chippokes Park Rd, Surry, VA 23883. Please note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared to pay any entrance fees at the park.

  To reach Chippokes State Park using public transportation, you will first need to get to the nearest major bus station. If you are starting from a location in the Chesapeake Bay Region, take a local bus to the nearest Greyhound bus station. Once at the Greyhound station, purchase a ticket to Surry, VA. Upon arriving in Surry, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to Chippokes State Park, which is located approximately 5 miles from the Surry bus stop.
