Hiking from Grayson Highlands State Park
To reach Wilburn Ridge from any point in Grayson Highlands State Park, start at the Grayson Highlands State Park Entrance located on Route 58. Once inside the park, drive to the Massie Gap parking area. The parking area is well-marked and provides ample space for vehicles. From the Massie Gap parking lot, locate the Appalachian Trail (AT) trailhead, which is adjacent to the parking area. Follow the AT northbound for approximately 1.5 miles. This moderate hike will take you through beautiful landscapes, with signs directing you along the way. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach Wilburn Ridge, where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
