Walking
If you are starting from downtown Harrisonburg, head east on East Market Street (Route 33). Walk approximately 0.5 miles until you reach South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. Look for the entrance to James Madison University on your right at University Blvd. Turn right onto University Blvd and walk straight for about 0.4 miles. The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will be on your left at 780 University Blvd.

From downtown Harrisonburg, take the JMU campus shuttle (check the current schedule for times). Look for the shuttle stop near the Court Square and board the shuttle heading towards JMU. Request to get off at the stop closest to the Arboretum. Once you disembark, walk a short distance along University Blvd to reach the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at 780 University Blvd.
