Walking
If you are starting from downtown Harrisonburg, head east on East Market Street (Route 33). Walk approximately 0.5 miles until you reach South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. Look for the entrance to James Madison University on your right at University Blvd. Turn right onto University Blvd and walk straight for about 0.4 miles. The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will be on your left at 780 University Blvd.

Public Transit
From downtown Harrisonburg, take the JMU campus shuttle (check the current schedule for times). Look for the shuttle stop near the Court Square and board the shuttle heading towards JMU. Request to get off at the stop closest to the Arboretum. Once you disembark, walk a short distance along University Blvd to reach the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at 780 University Blvd.

Bicycling
If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Harrisonburg. Start on East Market Street heading east, then turn left onto South Main Street. Follow South Main Street until you reach University Blvd, where you will turn right. Continue riding straight for about 0.4 miles, and you will see the Arboretum on your left at 780 University Blvd. There are bike racks available near the entrance.
