    From anywhere in Northern Virginia, get onto I-66 E towards Washington, D.C. Follow I-66 E for about 15 miles. Take the exit toward US-29 N/US-50 E. Merge onto US-29 N and continue for approximately 2 miles. Take the exit onto I-495 N (Capital Beltway) towards Silver Spring. After about 3 miles, take exit 31A to merge onto US-1 S towards Washington. Continue on US-1 S for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Connecticut Ave NW. The Smithsonian National Zoological Park will be on your right at 3001 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.

    If you are in Northern Virginia, take the Metro train from any station on the Yellow or Blue Line towards L'Enfant Plaza. From there, exit the station and walk towards Independence Ave SW. Take the 30 or 36 bus towards Fort Totten Metro Station, and get off at the Connecticut Ave NW stop. Walk north on Connecticut Ave NW for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park located at 3001 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.
