    If you are in downtown Petersburg, head east on E Sycamore St toward N Market St. Continue onto E Washington St, then turn left onto S Market St. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with E Bank St, then turn right. Follow E Bank St, which will turn into E Broad St, and continue until you reach the intersection with N 9th St. Turn left onto N 9th St and keep walking until you reach the James River. You should see signs for fishing spots along the river.

    From downtown Petersburg, find the nearest bus stop for the Petersburg Area Transit service. Take the bus route that goes towards Richmond and request to get off at the stop closest to Main St Station in Richmond. From there, transfer to the GRTC bus service and take route 1 toward the East End. Get off at the stop near 3101 Wharf St. Once you are off the bus, walk towards the riverfront area where you will find the James River fishing spots.
