If you are starting from the Petersburg Visitor Center located at 100 River Street, head south on River Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with East Washington Street. Turn left onto East Washington Street and walk for another 0.2 miles. You will see the entrance to the Poplar Lawn Historic District on your right, just past the intersection with South Sycamore Street.
