    If you are starting from the Petersburg Visitor Center located at 100 River Street, head south on River Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with East Washington Street. Turn left onto East Washington Street and walk for another 0.2 miles. You will see the entrance to the Poplar Lawn Historic District on your right, just past the intersection with South Sycamore Street.

    From the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) bus stop near the Visitor Center, take Route 1 towards the South Petersburg Transfer Station. After about 5 minutes, get off at the stop near East Washington Street. From there, walk south on East Washington Street for about 0.2 miles, and you will find the entrance to the Poplar Lawn Historic District on your right.
