Getting There

Public Transit
Start at the Roanoke Civic Center. Take the Valley Metro bus route 1 towards Tanglewood Mall. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop on 13th St SW and Campbell Ave SW. From there, walk south on 13th St SW for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with Williamson Rd NW. Continue straight onto Williamson Rd NW, which becomes US-221 N. Follow the road for about 1.5 miles until you see the entrance to the park on your right, which leads to Stewart Knob. The hiking trail to the summit begins here.

If you are near the Roanoke River Greenway, start your ride heading towards the intersection of 2nd St SW and Jefferson St SW. From there, head west on 2nd St SW until you reach the entrance of the greenway. Follow the greenway north, which will lead you towards the proximity of Stewart Knob. Once you get close, exit the greenway and take Williamson Rd NW heading north. The entrance to Stewart Knob will be on your right. The bike ride should take about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
