    Start at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. From here, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch the 20 or 23 bus heading towards the Norfolk area. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most accurate timings. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at 1st Street and Atlantic Avenue. After getting off, walk towards the Atlantic Avenue and turn left, heading north. Continue walking until you reach the intersection at 36th Street. Once you reach 36th Street, look for the VB Wave trolley, which is free and runs along the beach. Board the trolley heading towards Fort Story. The trolley will take you close to Cape Henry Lighthouse. Once you get off the trolley, follow the signs leading to the lighthouse, which is a short walk away at 583 Atlantic Ave, Fort Story, VA 23459.

    Biking

    If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Start your journey by heading north on the boardwalk until you reach 36th Street. From there, turn left and continue biking along Atlantic Avenue. Follow the road until you reach the entrance of Fort Story, where you will need to park your bike.
