Getting There

  • Car

    From Deception Pass State Park, start by heading south on State Route 20 (SR 20) towards Oak Harbor. Continue on SR 20 for approximately 5 miles until you reach the junction with State Route 9 (SR 9). Take a left onto SR 9 and continue for about 15 miles until you reach the town of Granite Falls. From Granite Falls, follow the signs to Mountain Loop Highway. Turn left onto Mountain Loop Highway and continue for about 12 miles until you see the Mount Pilchuck State Park entrance on your right. There is a parking fee of $10 for day use, so be prepared to pay this amount.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, you can take the Skagit Transit bus (Route 90) from Deception Pass State Park to Mount Vernon. From Mount Vernon, transfer to the Community Transit bus (Route 201) towards Granite Falls. Once you reach Granite Falls, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Mount Pilchuck State Park as public transportation does not go directly to the park. Be sure to check the schedules in advance, as services may vary, and factor in the costs of both bus fares and the taxi ride.
