    If you are starting from downtown Kirkland, head east on Kirkland Avenue toward Lake Street. Continue straight until you reach Lake Street, then turn left. Follow Lake Street until you reach the intersection with 5th Avenue. Turn right on 5th Avenue and continue until you reach the waterfront. You will see the park entrance at 5811 Lake Washington Blvd NE on your left. It's about a 20-25 minute walk.

    From downtown Kirkland, bike along the Kirkland waterfront trail. Start on the waterfront path at Marina Park and follow the path along the lake. This scenic route will lead you directly to Doris Cooper Houghton Beach Park. Watch for signs directing you to the park as you approach Lake Washington Blvd NE. The ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
