Car

If you are driving, start on WA-503 S from any location in the Mount St. Helens area. Follow WA-503 S for about 23 miles until you reach the junction with Spirit Lake Highway (WA-504). Turn right onto Spirit Lake Highway (WA-504) and continue for approximately 11 miles. Look for the Loowit Viewpoint sign on your left. There is a small parking area available near the viewpoint.

Public Transportation

Public transportation options are limited in the Mount St. Helens area, but you can take a Greyhound or local bus service to the closest town, Cougar, WA. From Cougar, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Loowit Viewpoint. The distance from Cougar to Loowit Viewpoint is about 6 miles, and it may be challenging to find a taxi, so ensure you arrange it in advance.

Walking/Hiking
