Car
If you're driving, start from the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center located at 42218 NE Yale Bridge Rd, Amboy, WA 98601. Head east on Yale Bridge Rd for about 3.5 miles until you reach WA-503 N. Turn left onto WA-503 N and continue for approximately 10 miles. Then, take a right turn onto Forest Rd 90. Follow this road for about 12 miles, which will take you to the Loowit Trailhead. Parking at the trailhead may require a Northwest Forest Pass, which costs $5 for a day pass or $30 for an annual pass.

Public transportation options are limited in the area. If you are starting from Portland or Vancouver, take a Greyhound or local bus service to Amboy, WA. From Amboy, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center. Once at the Visitor Center, follow the driving instructions mentioned above to reach the Loowit Trailhead.
