Car
If you're driving, start from the nearest major town, which is Chelan, WA. From Chelan, take WA-150 N for approximately 25 miles until you reach the town of Stehekin. Note that the road will eventually lead to a ferry terminal. As you approach Stehekin, you will need to park at the Lady of the Lake ferry terminal. Parking fees may apply, so it's advisable to check the rates before your trip. Once you park, board the Lady of the Lake ferry, which will take you across Lake Chelan to Stehekin. The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

After disembarking the ferry in Stehekin, you can explore the area and will need to use local transportation options to reach Rainbow Falls Trailhead. The trailhead is accessible via a short hike from the Stehekin River Road. You can either walk or rent a bike from local rental shops in Stehekin. The walk to the Rainbow Falls Trailhead is about 1 mile along the road, providing a scenic view of the valley.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, during the summer months, there may be shuttle services available from the ferry terminal to the trailheads. Be sure to check the local shuttle schedules ahead of your visit. If you do not have a car, plan to rely on the ferry and local shuttles, and consider contacting local tour operators for additional options.
