    Start your journey in Dayton, WA. From downtown Dayton, head east on E Main St toward WA-125 N. Continue on WA-125 N for approximately 18 miles until you reach the town of Waitsburg. In Waitsburg, turn left onto WA-12 W and continue for about 10 miles. After passing through the small community of Starbuck, turn right onto Oregon Butte Road. Follow Oregon Butte Road for about 10 miles, which will take you directly to the Oregon Butte Lookout. Be prepared for a gravel road; a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Note that there may be some areas where the road is not well maintained. Ensure to check road conditions ahead of your trip, as they can vary seasonally.

    From Dayton, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local transit option to Walla Walla, WA. Once in Walla Walla, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the nearest access point for Oregon Butte Road (approximately 30 miles from Walla Walla). Upon reaching the Oregon Butte Road, you will need to hike approximately 2 miles from the nearest parking area to reach the lookout.
