In Waitsburg, turn left onto WA-12 W and continue for about 10 miles. After passing through the small community of Starbuck, turn right onto Oregon Butte Road. Follow Oregon Butte Road for about 10 miles, which will take you directly to the Oregon Butte Lookout. Be prepared for a gravel road; a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. Note that there may be some areas where the road is not well maintained. Ensure to check road conditions ahead of your trip, as they can vary seasonally.

From Dayton, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local transit option to Walla Walla, WA.
