    From the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center, head south down Washington Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with High Street. Turn right onto High Street and follow it as it winds through the historic town. After about a quarter-mile, you will come to the footbridge leading across the Potomac River. Cross the bridge, and once you reach the other side, you will be at the intersection with Potomac Street. Take a left onto Potomac Street, and follow it until you reach the intersection with Urbana Pike (MD 355). Turn right onto Urbana Pike, and continue walking for about 2 miles. Monocacy National Battlefield will be on your left at 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704.

    From the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Washington Street and High Street. Take the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus 505 towards Frederick. The bus will take you directly to the area near Monocacy National Battlefield. Once you arrive at the stop closest to 5201 Urbana Pike, disembark and walk a short distance to the entrance of Monocacy National Battlefield.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center and ride south on Washington Street. Follow the road until it merges with Old National Pike. Continue on the Old National Pike for about 2 miles, enjoying the scenic views along the way. After that distance, you will arrive at the intersection with Urbana Pike (MD 355). Turn right onto Urbana Pike, and within a short distance, you will reach Monocacy National Battlefield at 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704.
