Car
If you are driving from anywhere on Madeline Island, start by heading towards the Madeline Island Ferry Line terminal located at 1 Ferry Dock Rd, La Pointe, WI 54850. Follow signs to the ferry terminal. The ferry operates regularly, and tickets can be purchased on-site (approximately $15 round trip for passengers). Once on the ferry, enjoy the scenic ride to Bayfield, Wisconsin. Upon arrival, you will drive or walk to 415 Washington Ave. The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Headquarters is located on this street. Look for the visitor center on your right side.

Public Transportation
Currently, there are no direct public transportation options available on Madeline Island. However, you can take the Madeline Island Ferry to Bayfield, WI. Once you arrive at the Bayfield terminal, you can walk to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Headquarters located at 415 Washington Ave. The walk is approximately 0.5 miles and should take about 10-15 minutes. Follow Washington Ave north and look for the visitor center on your left side.
