Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, you will want to enter Yellowstone National Park through the East Entrance. From Teton County, head north on US-89. Once you reach the junction of US-89 and US-287, turn left onto US-287 and follow the signs to the East Entrance of Yellowstone. Upon entering the park, continue on the Grand Loop Road. Gibbon Falls is located approximately 5 miles west of the entrance. Look for the Gibbon Falls viewpoint sign, and park in the designated parking area.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, you can take the shuttle services from Jackson, Wyoming, to Yellowstone National Park. Look for providers like Xanterra or other local tour companies that operate seasonal shuttles. Once you arrive at the park, you may need to use park shuttles that operate along the Grand Loop Road. To reach Gibbon Falls, ask the shuttle driver for the closest stop; it's located near the Gibbon Falls viewpoint. Note that park entrance fees apply, which are $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass.

• Bike

  If you're feeling adventurous and would like to bike to Gibbon Falls, you can rent bicycles in nearby areas like Jackson Hole. From the East Entrance, bike along the Grand Loop Road, which is approximately 5 miles to Gibbon Falls. There are designated bike paths in certain areas of the park, but be cautious as some stretches share the road with vehicle traffic. Ensure you have a valid park entrance pass, as biking also requires the same fees as vehicles.
