Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to the nearest major intersection in the Wind River Range. From there, take WY-26 W/WY-287 N and continue on this road for approximately 30 miles. You will come to a junction where you should follow signs for US-191 N. Continue on US-191 N for about 25 miles until you reach the Moran Junction. At the junction, turn right onto the Teton Park Road (also known as Oxbow Bend Turn). Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at Oxbow Bend, a scenic spot known for its breathtaking views.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, first check the bus schedules for the local transit system that services the Wind River Range area. You may need to take a bus to Jackson, WY. Once in Jackson, you can catch a shuttle or a taxi to Moran. Ask to be dropped off at Oxbow Bend Turn, which is approximately 20 minutes from Jackson. Be sure to check the availability and schedule of the shuttle service in advance as they may not run frequently.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from nearby towns like Jackson or Pinedale. The ride may be challenging due to elevation changes and varying terrain, but it’s a rewarding way to experience the landscapes of the Wind River Range. Make sure to take the same route as the cars via US-191 N, and follow the same directions to Oxbow Bend. Ensure that you carry enough water and snacks, as there are limited facilities along the way.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider hiking to Oxbow Bend from nearby trails. There are various trails in the Wind River Range that can connect you to the area, but this option is best for experienced hikers due to the distance and elevation. Plan your route in advance using local trail maps and ensure you’re equipped with a map or GPS device. Note that this option may take several hours and requires proper gear and preparation.
