Car
From the Wind River Range, you will first need to head east on US-26 E. Continue on US-26 E until you reach the junction with US-287 N. Take the exit toward US-287 N and continue for about 40 miles. At the town of Lander, turn left onto WY-789 N and follow it until you reach the junction with I-80 E. Take I-80 E and merge onto I-25 N toward Casper. After about 90 miles, take exit 182 for US-14 E toward Moorcroft. Continue on US-14 E for approximately 30 miles until you reach WY-110. Turn left onto WY-110, and follow the signs to Devils Tower National Monument. The total drive will take around 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Public Transportation
There are limited public transportation options in this remote area. The best option is to take a bus from Lander to Gillette or Sheridan. From Gillette, you can rent a car or arrange for a taxi service to take you to Devils Tower National Monument. The taxi fare may vary, so it’s advisable to confirm the cost beforehand. Once you have a vehicle, follow WY-59 S and then US-14 E to WY-110. The travel time by bus will take approximately 3-4 hours, and then an additional 1 hour by taxi.
Taxi/Rideshare
If you prefer not to drive, you can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service from nearby towns such as Hulett or Moorcroft to Devils Tower National Monument. Contact local taxi services in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak tourist seasons. The ride from Hulett should take about 20 minutes and may cost around $30-50, while from Moorcroft it will take about 30 minutes and could range from $40-60.
