Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the capital city of Barotseland, Mongu, head east on the A3 road towards Kalabo. After approximately 50 kilometers, turn right onto the B10 road toward the Zambezi River. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the ferry across the Zambezi River (note that ferry fees may apply, typically around 20 ZMW per vehicle). Once across, follow the signs towards Livingstone, which is about 20 kilometers away. The David Livingstone Statue is located near the riverbank.

• Public Transportation

  From Mongu, take a minibus or shared taxi to Kalabo. These can be found at the bus station in Mongu, and the fare is usually around 50 ZMW. Once you reach Kalabo, look for local transport to the ferry terminal. Once at the ferry, you will pay a fee (approximately 10 ZMW per person) to cross the Zambezi River. After crossing, you can hire a local taxi to take you to the David Livingstone Statue, which might cost around 100 ZMW.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of the statue, you can walk to it by following the footpaths along the riverbank. The statue is visible from a distance due to its height, making it easier to navigate. Ensure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring enough water, as the area can get quite sunny.
