Car

If you're traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Kasanka National Park, which is well-marked. Head southeast on the main park road towards the Kasanka River. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork and continue for another 10 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction to Melela Falls. The final stretch involves a dirt road; ensure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved terrain. Follow the signs for about 5 kilometers until you see a small parking area near the falls.

Public Transportation

Public transportation options are limited within Kasanka National Park. However, you can take a local minibus from the nearest town, which is approximately 30 kilometers from the park entrance. Ask the driver to drop you off at the park entrance. From there, you will need to hire a local taxi or arrange a guided tour to Melela Falls, as public transport does not go directly to the falls. The taxi ride will cost around 200 Zambian Kwacha and will take approximately 30 minutes.
