Getting there

Car

From any location in the Eastern Highlands, head towards Mutare on the A3 highway. Once you reach Mutare, follow signs to the A4 highway towards Harare. Continue for approximately 45 km until you reach the turnoff for the Khami Ruins, which is well-marked. Follow the signs for about 10 km to the Khami Ruins entrance. Note that there may be a small entrance fee to access the site.

Public Transportation

Start at your accommodation in the Eastern Highlands and take a shared taxi or minibus to Mutare. The journey typically takes around 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic. Once in Mutare, find a minibus heading towards Harare and ask the driver to drop you off at the Khami Ruins turnoff. From there, you may need to walk approximately 10 km to the entrance of the ruins, or you could try to find a local taxi to take you the short distance to the site. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee at the ruins.

Private Taxi
