Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the city of Mutare, the capital of Manicaland. Head southwest on the A5 road towards the town of Nyanga. Continue on the A5 for approximately 55 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the B102 road. Turn right onto the B102 and follow the road for about 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Castle Beacon. As you approach the area, you’ll need to navigate along unpaved roads, so be cautious, especially if the weather has been wet. Parking may be limited, so be prepared to park your vehicle at a designated area and walk the remaining distance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, catch a bus from Mutare to Nyanga. Buses frequently depart from the Mutare bus terminus. The journey to Nyanga takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Nyanga, you can hire a local taxi to take you closer to Castle Beacon. Agree on a fare beforehand; it typically ranges between $5 to $10 USD depending on the distance. Be prepared for a bit of off-road travel, as the taxi may not take you directly to the peak. You might need to walk a short distance from where the taxi drops you off to reach the final destination.
