What to expect
Cusco Cathedral
is a symbol of the Andean-Christian religious syncretism famous for its chapels, altars, etc.
Qorikancha
The Coricancha was the most important temple for the Incas. Such was the perfection of its walls that even surpass Machu Picchu. Currently, the temple is one of the main tourist attractions of the city of Cusco.
Sacsayhuamán is one of the most amazing buildings in the world. One thinks that it began to be constructed during the government of Inca Pachacutec in century XV. It is believed that more than 20 thousand men extracted the stones from the nearby quarries and moved it 20 kilometers to the hill of the city of Cusco. Today, it is estimated that Sacsayhuaman retains only 40 percent of its old structure. Even so, the site has structures of up to 125 tons of weight. How the Incas built Sacsayhuaman with structures of an unlikely weight and size for the time? Many questions are still a mystery. There lies the beauty of this archaeological site.
The Quechua name Qenqo means labyrinth. In the worldview of the Andean culture, this place was built to invoke to Kaypacha, legendary snake that gives rise to life. The Incas used this place as a bridge to communicate with others of their gods like the sun, the earth, the mountains, the moon and the stars. Everything in this place has a special mystique, the amphitheater, the mazes, the canals and the sacrificial room.
Puka Pukara Archaeological Complex
Puka Pukara houses enclosures such as inner squares, canals, aqueducts, baths and a well-known ancient road, which should have been part of the network of Inca roads known as Qhapaq Ñan; The buildings are built with rocks of different sizes (small and medium). Puca Pucara presents the surface of the rocks very uneven, compared to other archaeological sites.
The archaeological complex of Tambomachay is also known as the Baños de Inca, and is one of the most important Inca buildings; This is due to the great mastery and the incredible work with the stones that form its walls. It has an astonishing subterranean hydraulic system, and this is very simple to explain, the Inca civilization revered the water as a life-giving deity.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
