    We did the Hidden Gems and Highlights three hour tour and a day trip to Ninh Binh with our guide Mr Vu. Our first time in Vietnam and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Really informative and a good sense of history and humour! Would highly recommend this company.

    As the name implies, they take you through a lot of interesting hidden places in downtown Hanoi. The city itself has a long rich history, and this is a great way to learn about some of it. I was surprised by how much there was to see and learn, and how bustling or quiet some of the hidden nooks were. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke great English, there were also a few great spots to take pictures. Highly recommend.

    Beguiling, captivating walking tour around the hidden gems of Hanoi - the “hẻm gems” . Maybe I would say the pagoda was the highlight, but the various nooks and crannies on this walk were fascinating. So many places, not so much hidden as neglected or easily missed. Even the starting point, Đồng Xuân market, was so unexpected: it is an amazing place - full of frantic activity, and hustle and bustle. All human life and all its products are visible there! Then we went to a very beautiful, tranquil pagoda. It was completely quiet, no one there apart from us - and one enormous, very noisy rooster, who crowed and crowed all the time we were there. It is a truly beautiful and mystical place, spiritual and calm. Serenity after the clamour of the streets. I can’t recommend this enough, and Vu, our tour guide, was charming, entertaining, amusing and - most important - very knowledgeable. I have lived in Hanoi for 5 years and had no idea of any of these gems in the hems (alleys). If you have a spare 2-3 hours, you must do it.

    I have spent almost three hours in a morning strolling around part of Hanoi that were very interesting to see, namely the main market and the area around the old train station of Long Bien. The tour is full of little historical anecdotes which makes it very entertaining. I would strongly recommend it for anyone who'd like to discover the center of Hanoi.

    Hanoia Metropole

    One of the most legendary guests of Hanoi’s Sofitel Metropole Hotel is Joan Baez, an American folk singer and activist. She was a guest of the hotel over Christmas in 1972 when the Americans began their ruthless 11-day bombing campaign under the name Operation Linebacker II. Baez and other guests were crammed into small, sweltering bomb shelters underneath the back courtyard where they remained throughout the duration of the raid. While the guests waited in fear, Baez played guitar and sang to keep their terror at bay. It was here that Baez partially recorded Where Are You Now, My Son.
