What to expect
With a private vehicle we head towards the Llanganuco Valley. First we pass the control of Parque Huascarán, then we ascend in a zigzag through the Llanganuco creek. Further on we pass close to the 2 lagoons (Chinancocha and Orconcocha). After a brief stop we head to Cebollapamapa, which is the starting point for the walk to Laguna 69. Arriving at lagoon 69 will take us 3 hours approx. And it is located just below the impressive mountain of Chacraraju (6112 m.). Then we go down the same route for 2 hours to Cebollapampa, where the transport is waiting to return to Huaraz.
