What to expect
White Horse of Kilburn
A view of the enormous 'White Horse of Kilburn' (97m wide) The horse was carved into the Sandstone over 100 years ago. (please not that we will see the horse from the minibus and will not be venturing up close)
A stop at Byland Abbey. A Gothic Monastery which inspired the design for York Minster Rose Window
Visiting the beautiful, bustling market Town of Helmsley (Once my Home) Here, you will be able to stretch your legs, get something to eat and use the toilet facilities.
We will travel over a section of the North York Moors National Park where you can appreciate the beauty and tranquility of this vast moorland
A pass-by of this beautiful small village where you often see sheep taking over the roads.
Goathland
We will be stopping at the train station in Goathland to catch the steam train, one way to Whitby. Goathland is famous for the filming of Harry Potter and Heartbeat.
Whitby
Approximately 2 hours to spend in Whitby at your leisure. You may want to visit Whitby Abbey, eat fish and chips or just take in the harbour atmostphere of fishing boats along the great piers.
On the way home we will drive past this 18th Century stately home, famous in the filming of 'Bridgerton' and Brideshead Revisited' before making our way back to York
