As you depart from Edinburgh, you pass through the historic streets of Edinburgh's Old Town. Marvel at the medieval architecture, the narrow alleys, and the cobbled streets that tell tales of Scotland's rich past.
Midhope Castle
Your first stop is Midhope Castle, known to Outlander fans as Lallybroch. Walk around the exterior of this iconic filming location and imagine the life of Jamie Fraser. Note that entry tickets are not included, so be prepared to purchase them separately if you wish to explore further.
Next, visit Doune Castle, a well-preserved medieval structure featured in multiple productions including Outlander, Game of Thrones, and Monty Python's Holy Grail. Enjoy the audio guide as you explore the castle grounds. Remember, entry tickets are not included.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch in the picturesque village of Culross, which stands in for the fictional Cranesmuir in Outlander. Walk through the narrow streets and admire the well-preserved 17th and 18th-century architecture.
Continue to Falkland, a charming village used as 1940's Inverness in Outlander. Stroll through the streets and take in the quaint atmosphere, imagining the scenes filmed here.
Your final Outlander filming location is Blackness Castle, portrayed as Fort William in the series. Explore the dramatic fortress on the banks of the River Forth. Note that entry tickets are not included in your tour package.

Midhope Castle will be closed on the following days for filming: Friday 13th–26th, Thursday February 2026 (reopens Friday 27th), Friday 29th May 2026, Saturday 30th May 2026, Sunday 31st May 2026, Saturday 6th June 2026, Sunday 7th June 2026, Friday 14th August 2026, Saturday 15th August 2026, Sunday 16th August 2026, Friday 11th September 2026, Saturday 12th September 2026, Sunday 13th September 2026, Midhope will then be closed for winter from Thursday 24th December - 2027 (details on closures dates for 2027 coming soon)
