What to expect
Visit the world-famous Postojna Cave’s 24 kilometers of underground passages, galleries, and halls that were carved by the Pivka River. Begin your journey on the world's first cave railway, marvel at thousands of stalagmites and stalactites, and see the fairytale dance hall adorned with magnificent Murano-glass chandeliers. Explore 5km of the cave on an hour and a half cave tour riding the underground train and walking along a footpath. Enjoy subterranean scenery beginning at the stalactite-covered Great Mountain cavern, continue by foot to the Velika Gora cavern, across the Russian Bridge to the 5-meter high white stalagmite called ‘Brilliant’. Reboard your train by the Concert Hall where you will be returned to the entrance. Finally, see the captivating endemic olm on a visit to the aquarium. Marvel at the paled-skinned creatures that can only be found in a very small part of the world!
