Hurghada
For this private day trip to Luxor, travelers will be picked up from their hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Soma Bay, Safaga or a nearby resort on the Red Sea and driven to Luxor in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The tour program includes the impressive Karnak Temple, followed by a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where travelers can explore selected royal tombs and learn more about the pharaohs and ancient Egyptian burial traditions. The tour then continues to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank of Luxor. A lunch break in a local restaurant is included in the daily program. Throughout the entire tour program, the travelers will be accompanied by a German-speaking Egyptologist who will explain the history, architecture, and significance of each site in an easily understandable way. After the last visit, the travelers return to their hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, or the surrounding Red Sea region by private vehicle.
Karnak, near Luxor, is not just one temple, but a vast complex of temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings dedicated primarily to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Construction began around 2055 BC and continued until around 100 AD, with approximately 30 pharaohs contributing to its grandeur.
The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as Djeser-Djeseru ('Holy of Holies'), is an ancient Egyptian temple built for Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt's most successful female pharaohs, during the 18th Dynasty. Located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor, the temple is considered a masterpiece of ancient architecture, with its unique terraced design blending seamlessly into the surrounding cliffs of Deir el-Bahri.
Embark on a journey through ancient history at the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of pharaohs and breathtaking hieroglyphics await. This UNESCO World Heritage site invites you to explore the final resting places of Egypt's greatest rulers amidst the stunning desert landscape of Luxor.
