Fall in love with the country - take a look at the main entrance to the city while your host explains more about the wooden bridge and the architecture. Part of the historic city fortress, this 1537 stone gate features a drawbridge and the magnificent Renaissance arch. The main entrance to Old Town, busy Pile Gate in the old times used to have a wooden drawbridge that used to be pulled up at night to prevent unwelcome guests from entering the medieval, walled city.
