    An absolutely wonderful tour! We booked the Blue mosque and Sultanahmet Sq tour last minute without knowing what to expect, but so glad we did. Sib was a gracious guide (we were the only guests on our tour) who seemed to know everyone at the various places we visited, and is an increadible resource of knowledge on the history of the Mosque and area (and included an impromptu visit to the stunning Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque) as well as the stories behind the religious history (believe he has just completed a doctorate on the history of religion!). Two hours very well spent, and if you are interested in a deeper historical tour to really hear about the history of the Blue Mosque and surroundings as well as the religious culture, this is definetely the tour for you. Highly recommended!

    Go after 5pm to avoid 2 hour queues. I went in October. Queues will be even longer in the summer. I spectacular mosque and is a must see on Istanbul and its free!!

    Un peu bondé, mais c’est le jeu. Place très jolie, et mosquée incroyable avec sa hauteur, ses luminaires. A quand même quelques travaux de restauration à faire.

    Visit in April 2025 Sofia Mosque, they charge 25 EU (only for the terrace, you can look from above, it is all cordoned off with important distance. Only Muslims can enter the ground floor) and 25 EU for the museum (per person) And the truth is, it's not worth it... losing money, especially if you're going as a family. Blue Mosque, admission is free and beautiful. I felt cheated on the M. Sofia.

    Sib is a very knowledgeable, friendly and interesting guide who really knows his subject matter and delivers information clearly. The tour extended beyond The Blue Mosque to encompass other sites of interest to visit later on if we wished. Afterwards Sib sent us links to useful information.

    Blue Mosque

    The Blue Mosque in Istanbul, also known by its official name, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish: Sultan Ahmet Camii), is an Ottoman-era historical imperial mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. A functioning mosque, it also attracts large numbers of tourist visitors. It was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I. Its Külliye contains Ahmed's tomb, a madrasah and a hospice. Hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets and eight secondary domes.
